M3GAN 2.0 Titles
M3GAN 2.0. Named after a killer robot child that is already taking the internet by storm, “M3GAN” stars Allison Williams as a roboticist who programs M3GAN to help her orphaned niece cope with a recent tragedy. The film is produced by horror icons Jason Blum and James Wan, so those who are easily frightened should beware.
This is a sequel of the original film. Designers were tasked with creating a pitch deck of 3 different concepts for a title sequence.
Title sequence design has always been a favorite of mine. I always find that film's characters, motifs, and themes allow for some very interesting design prompts to explore while creating styleframes.
Glitched Malfunctions
Glitched Malfunctions focuses on the aspect of M3GAN’s corruption by using glitches and errors to show the instability in her programming and psyche. The constant unpredictable changes of the glitches represent her ever changing AI functions.
Digital Fragments
Digital Fragments depicts the creation of a new M3GAN prototype since the previous one was destroyed. Various electronics such as binary coding, motherboards, circuits and robotic parts would be shown as pixel and particle images to further drive the sci-fi essence of this character.

Analog uses imagery associated with robotics and child-like silhouettes to juxtapose M3GAN and Cady with a digital filter over them to reinforce the film’s sci-fi element.
