Einstein’s Dreams
Alan Lightman
Lightman’s novel explores themes of time set in a reality that evokes imagery of imaginary worlds and citizens that are in a constant loop of repeating everything in their lives, from life, to death, from every failure, to every victory. Every experience is but part of a never ending cycle of time. The goal for this project was to explore experimental processes as means to create original form that resonate with the mood and content from one of three texts.
Keywords include; Time, Life, Death, Aging, Speed, Motion, and Cycles.

Process Map
3D and In-Camera processes will be combined for the development stage of this project.
The process for this project starts with capturing in camera footage of blurry light streaks. The outcome of these experiments are unpredictable and uncontrollable.
In Cinema4D, an abstract editable shape is created with a highly reflective surface. The background for the scene will be the in camera footage for the shape to reflect. These rendered frames are then put into photoshop for final editing.

Color Grading
The colors being reflected through the glass were too bright and vibrant, so after adjusting the values and blurs to create hierarchy in details, they were put into a monochromatic filter and color graded to be high in contrast to create a strong sense of blacks and whites.
